That One Supplement, I Always Take

We often listen to those who we think have all the answers when it comes to major life decisions or finances, politics, school, career and even our health.
Maybe that little inkling inside of you telling you that the so-called experts may not actually have all of the answers is because they aren’t you.
I mean, don’t we have our own path to follow?
Why would an expert or parent or teacher know what’s right for you or for me?
At a young age, myself, I was taught to listen and follow but something inside of me said…question everything.
Luckily I realized that at times it was best to follow my own guidance, intuition or inner-knowing.
As you’ve read in my previous blogs regarding my journey towards healthy living such as My Recovery Story or Regain Your Balance, I discovered that it’s possible to take matters into my own hands when it comes to improving my health.
When we hear that voice inside of us saying not to give up hope, that there’s another way to heal other than what’s been told to us by someone else, it’s extremely beneficial to find a way to listen to that inner voice.
One of the best ways to listen to your intuition is through meditation or by quieting the mind.
Since our minds are on full blast all day long, give it a break by trying one of the following techniques:
1.) Sit in a dim room by yourself, close your eyes and focus on your breathing. Do this for atleast 5 minutes a day to start and go for as long as you can. Whenever your mind wanders, simply bring your focus back to your breathing.
2.) Take a walk in nature at a park or beach where it’s not crowded. If you feel more comfortable using headphones, listen to music without lyrics, preferably soft classical music or frequency sounds.
3.) If needed, lay down on the bed and listen to guided meditations which you may download on iTunes, Amazon Prime music or search for some that are free on YouTube.
4.) Chanting often used in Buddhism is also said to have profound effects on soothing the mind, body and soul.
Why It Matters
So, why am I telling you all of this?
I am often asked, ‘What supplement would you take, if you could take only one?”
My answer for that has always been easy: Probiotics.
If you’ve read my other blogs, you will know why.
But, the question is irrelevant because as much as I can sit here and explain to you again how important probiotics are to me, are they as important to you? That’s the question.
I have found through listening to my inner-knowing and by getting in tune with my body, I feel the best when I take my probiotics consistently.
In fact, I will go out of my way to make sure that I never run out and always take them on vacation as well.
However, what I do, may not be right for you.
